The outing in New York was when Tom, Jordan, Gatsby, Nick, and Daisy all head to the city but stop to get gasoline and runs into his mistresses husband. Then Tom gets angry at the thought of losing his mistress and his wife...With the fear of this thought becoming real he confronted Gatsby upon the arrival to the city.
