chapter 8

Gatsby tells nick that he had waited for Daisy up until it was 4 o clock in the morning . Daisy did not come out, neither did Tom. Gatsby claims that Daisy never loved Tom.
Nick advises Gatsby to leave long island so he could forget about Daisy and start a new life someone else but Gatsby feels that it is as if he were abandoning Daisy (who clearly does not want anything to do with him.
Gatsby tells Nick about the last time he and Daisy left each other. He explains how in love they were and how Daisy promised she would wait for Gatsby to come back. Though Gatsby came back, Daisy had found someone while Gatsby was away. Daisy was the first "nice girl" Gatsby met and he fell in love with every part of her.
I think that by adding the secondary character, the gardener is showing how important the pool is. Gatsby tells the gardener to wait a day because he wants to swim in it. I think Gatsby does this because he thinks that he will be caught and sent to jail.
Wilson is in search of his late wife's lover who he believes to also be guilty of murdering her. He figures out the model and color of the car who had killed Myrtle. When in search he realizes that god wants him to get revenge and while in search for the car he ran into Gatsby who was relaxing in the pool. George Wilson shot and killed Jay Gatsby and then killed himself.
